Details

The TCGADataTool allows for exploration of cancer datasets from TCGA projects.
Version 13.0 or newer of the Wolfram Language is required.
Known issues: in windows, the UI can be displayed greatly magnified, requiring scrolling around the window to access many elements. This is due to an interaction between the magnification scaling options display of Mathematica documents. Please ensure that the windows scale option is set to 100% (Settings > System > Display, then scroll down to the dropdown menu under "Scale and Layout"). If the issue persists, further adjustments can be made using Mathematica's own magnification options, in the bottom right hand corner of any notebook.
Known issues: the download tools available differ in speed and functionality, the default choice is GDC Data Transfer Tool. If issues arise when downloading the data with the current tool selection it is preferable to switch to the other via "advanced options" opener.
Known issues: Aborting an evaluation during data download is supported, however if the "Data Transfer Tool" has been selected, then the external tool will sometimes hang rather than terminating as instructed. Restarting the download should recover the tool, however if this does not succeed then the user will need to terminate the process using the system's Activity Monitor or Task Manager.
