PorePressureField

PorePressureField
[sol]
returns a pure function u[x,y] giving the pore-water pressure in kPa at any point of an unconfined solution.

Details and Options
▪
Below the water table the pore pressure is the FEM value u = 9810 (h - y) Pa; above it, it is capped hydrostatic suction (negative), with the cap set in metres of head by "SuctionCap".
▪
Returns
Missing
["OutsideSoil"] outside the soil body, so mapping it over a grid and dropping missing values gives a pore-pressure field ready to export, e.g. for a limit-equilibrium slope-stability program such as TerraLapsus.
▪
For a confined solution (no phreatic surface) it returns the plain FEM pore pressure everywhere on the mesh.
▪
The following options can be given:
"SuctionCap"
1.
Positive metres of head at which negative pore pressure (suction) above the water table is clipped; the default of 1 m is about 9.81 kPa.
