Details
▪
GitMergeBase
returns the same commit object which is used as the base commit for doing a
GitMerge
operation.
▪
ref
i
may be branch or tag names, SHAs, or commit objects. If any of
ref
i
do not exist,
GitMergeBase
will return
$Failed
.
▪
In typical repos, there will always be a merge base for any two commits. However, in a shallow repo or a repo which has more than one orphan commit, there might be no valid merge base. In this case,
GitMergeBase
will return
None
.
