MalcolmWoodruff`TerraLapsus`CuckooSearch`
LayerInterfaces

LayerInterfaces
[model]
returns the modelled stratum boundaries that lie inside the soil body, each as <|"Points", "Fn", "XRange", "Region", "Name", "Elevation", "Above", "Below", "Thickness"|>. These are the curves the search snaps to. An empty result means the model has no internal boundaries, in which case the cuckoo search still runs but has no weak layer to find.

Each entry is the boundary at the BASE of its region, so "Name" and "Above" are the material ON TOP of it and "Below" is the material underneath. "Thickness" IS THE LAYER BELOW, not the layer named: on a model with a 500 mm band the 0.5 appears on the boundary named for the material above the band, not on the one named for the band itself.

It prints as several hundred sampled points and an InterpolatingFunction per boundary. Use LayerInterfaceTable[model] to read it.

Details and Options
▪
The symbol lives in the context MalcolmWoodruff`TerraLapsus`CuckooSearch`. Load the whole library with Needs["MalcolmWoodruff`TerraLapsus`"]; every context is put on $ContextPath, so LayerInterfaces is reached by its plain name.
▪
TerraLapsusHelp[] prints a summary of the package. TerraLapsusFunctions[] lists every documented function and is searchable, e.g. TerraLapsusFunctions["*Crack*"]. TerraLapsusManual[] opens the quick-start manual and TerraLapsusExample[] the five worked examples.

Basic Examples

Load the package and build a model, then call LayerInterfaces:
In[1]:=
model = SlopeModel[
<|"Height" -> 10., "SlopeAngle" -> 26.57 Degree,
"FoundationDepth" -> 10., "CrestLength" -> 22.,
"ToeLength" -> 22., "XStart" -> -12.|>,
<|"Regions" -> {<|"Name" -> "Clay", "Base" -> 0.,
"UnitWeight" -> 20., "Cohesion" -> 10.,
"FrictionAngle" -> 20. Degree|>}|>];
res = BishopCriticalCircle[model, "Grid" -> 12];
