Series Resistance

A circuit composed solely of resistors in series is a series circuit.

The equivalent resistance equals the sum of the resistances.

Formula

QuantityVariable["R", "ElectricResistance"] == QuantityVariable[Subscript["R", "1"], "ElectricResistance"] + QuantityVariable[Subscript["R", "2"], "ElectricResistance"]

symbol description physical quantity
R equivalent resistance "ElectricResistance"
R1 resistance 1 "ElectricResistance"
R2 resistance 2 "ElectricResistance"
