In ages past, ere the world was young,
And mountains towered and forests sung,
There lived a maiden, fair and bold,
With hair like fire and heart of gold.
Deep in caverns of the earth she dwelt,
Amidst the halls of dwarves, where jewels were felt,
And there she sang, with voice so fine,
Songs of beauty, songs divine.
Yet far away, in a forest old,
A young elf walked, with hair like gold,
His eyes were bright, his heart was light,
And he danced beneath the moon's soft light.
Then one day, by chance or fate,
Their paths did cross, in forest great,
And there they met, amidst the trees,
And both were struck by Cupid's disease.
For love had bloomed between these two,
A dwarf and an elf, so fair and true,
And though their kin did not approve,
Their love did flourish, and it did move.
They met in secret, 'neath moon and star,
And pledged their love, both near and far,
And though their worlds were torn apart,
Their love did bond, and it did start.
Thus, in the annals of time and space,
Their tale did live, and it did grace,
The pages of history, with love so bold,
'Twas a story of dwarves and elves, so wondrously told.
