Swamp-lands, oh what a treat,
A habitat where land and water meet!
A place where trees grow in soggy soil,
And alligators swim, without any toil.
In swamp-lands, life thrives,
In many different shapes and sizes.
From the tiny insects that buzz around,
To the herons that gracefully surround.
The water in swamp-lands is murky and brown,
But it's home to many creatures, who don't frown.
Turtles, snakes, and frogs galore,
All make their homes along the swampy shore.
The cypress tree is a sight to see,
With its knobby knees and branches so free.
It grows in the swamp, with roots in the water,
And provides a home for many a critter.
Swamp-lands are important, that's for sure,
They help to clean our water, it's pure.
They act as a sponge, to absorb the rain,
And help to reduce flooding, what a gain!
So let's protect our swamp-lands, with all our might,
And keep them healthy, pure, and bright.
For the animals that call them home,
And for future generations to come!
